We meet on the first Wednesday of the month.

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, February to December, at St Martins Presbyterian Church, 43 St Martins Road, Christchurch, starting with morning tea and socialising at 9.30am before our guest speaker's presentation at 10am.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th May 2026 with guest speaker, Kate Russell, who will be talking on Modern Slavery.

Frieda Looser is a historian and educator who specializes in European, global, and local Canterbury history. She will be speaking on the topic of Moriori Renaissance and Recognition.

Margaret will share two immigrant stories, reliving the experiences of Sarah Stokes, who arrived in 1850 on The Randolph, one of the first four ships, and Rosalia Gierszewski, a Vogel immigrant who arrived on the Friedeburg in 1872 and settled in Marshlands. Her stories focus on local women and local history which she endeavours to present as authentically as possible.
